Integrated theories recognize that multiple social and individual factors interact to result in the eventual behaviour of individuals, and that we must consider the constellation of factors in an individual’s life in order to understand his or her behaviour.Įmploying an integrated approach within a life course perspective further recognizes that the factors that may have a causal influence on crime rates may change over the life course.
